Abstract:
Private universities are confronted with prominent educational defects including disciplinary segmentation and fragmented curriculum ideological and political education. Party building leadership serves as a core approach to break disciplinary barriers and construct an integrated talent cultivation system. Taking General Quality Education School of Wuchang University of Technology as an empirical sample, this paper adopts questionnaire survey, semi-structured interview and classroom observation to investigate Party member teachers from three departments: College English, Mathematics and Physical Education. The research finds four prominent problems restricting cross-disciplinary collaborative education: fragmented cognition of educational objectives, lack of regular collaborative operation mechanisms, scattered ideological and political teaching resources, and students’ superficial perception of value guidance. The fundamental causes consist of horizontal organizational barriers, insufficient teachers’ awareness and competence for cross-disciplinary cooperation, and the vacancy of supporting incentive systems. Based on Synergy Theory, Cross-disciplinary Teacher Community Theory and the CIPP Evaluation Model, this paper puts forward four targeted practical paths: constructing a three-level linkage system of “Party Branch–Teaching & Research Office–Curriculum Group” led by grassroots Party organizations, establishing a regular cross-disciplinary teacher community, jointly building a shared resource library for curriculum ideological and political education, and forming a four-dimensional closed-loop evaluation mechanism. This study provides empirical reference and operable implementation paradigm for similar private universities to resolve the bottlenecks of collaborative general education and advance the deep integration of Party building and curriculum ideological and political education.
